Overview

An adhoc event is any unplanned occurrence involving a student that you want to record in mymeddiCAL — a sick bay visit, a fall in the playground, a one-off medication, or any other incident. Unlike scheduled events, adhoc events are created on the spot from any screen.

Steps

1. Start the event

Click Create event — this button is available from any screen in the application.

2. Find the student

  • Type the student’s name into the search box.
  • Click the correct student from the results and confirm the selection.
  • Click Next.

3. Fill in event details

4. Add symptom and action

Record what happened and what was done:
  • Symptom — what the student presented with (e.g. Scraped knee, Headache, Allergic reaction)
  • Action — what was done in response (e.g. Applied bandage, Administered paracetamol, Called parent)

5. Create the event

Click Create. The event is saved and the guardian is notified automatically.
You can record adhoc events for students who don’t have a health plan — simply set Associated plan to None.
Guardians receive an automatic email and push notification when an event is recorded against their child.
