Overview

If you want another parent or caregiver to have access to your child’s health plan, you can request a co-guardian be added. Your school or club will review and approve the request before the co-guardian receives an invitation. Only the primary guardian can submit co-guardian requests.

Steps (Mobile App)

  1. Log in to the mymeddiCAL app and select the relevant organisation.
  2. Tap the ⋯ More tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap My Co-Guardian Requests.
  4. Tap + Add a Guardian.
  5. If you have more than one child, select which child to add the co-guardian for.
  6. Fill in the co-guardian’s details:
    • First and last name
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Relationship (e.g. Mother, Father, Guardian)
  7. Tap Send Request.
You’ll see a confirmation message. Your organisation will review the request and, once approved, the co-guardian will receive an invitation email to create their account.
The co-guardian does not gain access until an administrator at your school or club approves the request. You will be notified by email once a decision is made.

What the co-guardian sees

Once approved and invited, the co-guardian will receive an email with a magic link to set up their account. They can then log in to the mymeddiCAL app or web portal to view health plans for the linked student. Co-guardians can view health plans but cannot add further co-guardians — only the primary guardian can manage co-guardian requests.

Checking the status of your request

Tap ⋯ MoreMy Co-Guardian Requests at any time to see whether your request is pending, approved, or rejected. Rejected requests will include a reason from the administrator.
