# Creating a health plan

## Overview

A health plan documents a student's ongoing medication requirements — what, when, how much, and who administers it.

## Steps (Web)

1. Navigate to **Students** and click on the student's name.
2. Click **+ New health plan**.
3. Select the medication type and fill in:
   * Medication name
   * Dose and unit (e.g. 5ml, 1 tablet)
   * Frequency and schedule
   * Start and end dates
   * Any special instructions
4. Assign a staff member responsible.
5. Click **Save plan**.
6. The plan appears on the student's profile and is immediately active.

<Tip>
  You can share a health plan with a guardian so they have full visibility. Plans can also be set to require guardian approval before becoming active.
